The Veronica Garcia state championship is greeted by tons of counterpouss.
Garcia, a senior at East Valley High School in Spokane, Washington, won the female state title of 400 meters 2A on Saturday. Garcia is a transgender woman.
Garcia, according to the Seattle Times, was heckled before the race and was hooked afterwards.

But criticism did not end on Saturday. With students at school after the weekend, high school students decided to take matters into their own hands.
Many girls from Tumwater High School in Tumwater protested during school hours with a large banner sign that said: “It is not an outing (sic). We are not going anywhere.”
Other signs read “XX”, “Protest Female Sports” and other similar messages.
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) published the following statement to PK Press Club Digital: “The WIAA continues to proudly represent the 225,000 student-participants through the State. The association is aware of the demonstration of students of Tumwater HS.”
The Tumwater girl team finished in third place in the competition. Reese Heryford ended in 15th place in a preliminary race for the 400 meters, not part of the top eight necessary to qualify for the final.
Garcia said the hoots were “expected[ed]. “”

“I’m going to be honest, I’m somehow expecting that,” Garcia told Seattle Times. “But that may not have their planned effect. It made me angry, but not angry because I wanted to give up, but angry as I will push.
“I’m going to put this in the most PG-13 way. I’m just going to say that it is damned to do something else that they have nothing else to do. I hope they get a life. But well. It just shows who they are as people.”
Garcia, who ran the race in 55.70 seconds, won by more than a complete second. This moment would have been the slowest of all the boy, even in the preliminary rounds. Garcia also won a state championship last year and complained about lack of sports other competitors.
Garcia’s victory occurred about a week after the Quilcene school district in Washington voted, 3-2, to maintain the sports competition based on the birth sex of athletes, a decision that challenges the law of the state.

President Donald Trump Signed a decree in February to keep the organic boys away from the sports of girls and women, but the director of public instruction of the state of Washington, Chris Reykdal, who said once it would be “inaccurate” to say that there are only two sexes, said that the order challenges the law of the state.
