Peshawar:
The price of poultry has dropped considerably, going from RS460 per kilogram to Rs380 in a week – a decrease of RS80 per kilogram.
Despite the sharp drop in raw chickens prices, the cost of chicken dishes in restaurants and fast food outings remains unchanged, arousing consumers’ criticism.
As AID-UID-UL-AZHA approaches, the poultry market experienced a significant drop in prices.
However, the city’s restaurants continue to sell chicken dishes at swollen rates, unchanged since prices culminated earlier this year.
Previously, when chicken prices increased to RS500 per kilogram, catering and fast food operators increased the prices of popular chicken dishes.
Now that chicken rates have dropped considerably, the public wonders why these increased prices in the menu have not been revised.
