The reason behind the attack remains uncertain and the Iranian authorities have not yet published a detailed declaration on the surveys.

This is the second incident of this year involving the murder of Pakistani nationals in the region.

In April, eight Pakistani citizens were brutally murdered in the same province when unidentified attackers stormed an automotive workshop in Hazerabad, a village far from the district of Mehrestan and opened fire overnight.

The eight victims, from the Bahawalpur district in Punjab, were employed in the workshop where they carried out painting, polishing and repair of vehicles.
