- The official teaser shows a new camera in silhouette
- VoiceOver describes the XE tertimeter style line as an “essential” part of the history of the X series
- Expect a complete launch at the Fujifilm X Summit on June 12, 2025
A 15-second teaser video, published today before the Fujifilm X Summit event next week, seems to confirm that Fujifilm X-E5 is announced imminent.
The short film shows a compact camera and a lens in silhouette, with most of its dark and obscured details, while a voiceover says: “There is another series of telefiliator style which is just as essential when you tell the story of our history x History”.
Given that this image follows those of the cameras of the X100 and X-Pro series in the teaser, the remaining TV series series remaining to which it refers is undoubtedly the XE range, and it therefore follows that the obscured image must be from the long term X-E5.
The series of XE cameras has APS -C sensors and a compact telemeter style body, as is the popular X100Vi – but also support interchangeable lenses.

What could the X-E5 be reserved for us?
The X-E5 would be the first new version of the XE range since the X-E4, which was launched in 2021. It had an X-Trans CMOS 4 of 26.1 MP sensor, no stabilization in the body (Ibis), no viewfinder, no meteorological sealing and only a single location for SD card.
The X-E4 also stripped of physical controls such as dials and buttons at the very minimum. It is not necessarily a bad thing in a camera, but some estimated that Fujifilm was a little too minimalist for its own good here – to the point where it had an impact on the conviviality of the camera.
If I had to establish a list of personal wishes that I want for the X-E5 (keeping in mind that he will always have to compromise here and there to keep his affordable price), I would like to see the inclusion of ibis and meteorological seal, which would give pictures of all the shaves a global boost while making the camera a little more resistant and more suitable for travel. Add a viewfinder and it could be the perfect affordable street photography camera.
The previous rumors on the X-E5 suggest that at least one of my wishes is realized. Fuji Rumers reported that the camera will have ibis and an X-Trans V 40MP sensor, which will bring it more in line with the Fujifilm fixed lenstar, the X100VI.
Of course, the X-E5 will also be an interchangeable objective camera, so it will offer greater versatility than the X100VI. In fact, it seems likely to be launched alongside a new X-Mount Prime lens, the XF23mm f / 2.8. It would be a lens of pancakes with a low, portable and discreet profile – and mounted on a body like the X -E5, the two should make a very compact pairing.
Not long ago to wait for exactly what Fujifilm has in its sleeves for the XE series. This summit of June 12 cannot drive quickly enough. Let us know what type of camera you would like to see revealed next week in the comments below.
