Bill Belichick’s publicist would have “assured[d]“UNC’s head coach, his interview with CBS would concern his new book.
TMZ Sports reported that David Kass, Simon & Schuster’s main advertising director, told Belichick that the interview would be a “piece of sheet”.
Instead, the interview left the rails.

Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson was present for the interview, and Belichick was asked how they met. Hudson interrupted CBS’s interview to close this question and, according to reports, she interrupted several times and even stormed at a given time, delaying the interview of approximately 30 minutes.
But Kass would have written to Belichick: “This is a book segment that examines your life in football and what people can learn from you to succeed in their own life.”
After Belichick wanted to refuse the interview, another text wrote that Kass would have said: “I would not be so insistent if it was not so important to reserve sales and without risk.”
Kass would also have told Belichick that he had spoken to a producer of CBS “to stick to the book and shared that if they did, they will get an excellent interview, and he was really open, saying that he is not interested in going beyond the book.”
Belichick published a statement saying that he was “surprised” to get questions about his relationship and when Hudson intervened, she was doing her job. He also accused CBS of creating a “false story” with “selectively published clips”.

Instead, it presents clips and fixed images selectively published from a few minutes of the interview to suggest a false story – that Jordon tried to control the conversation – which is simply not true.”

CBS responded, in disagreement with the Belichick event version.
“When we agreed to speak with Mr. Belichick, it was for a big interview,” said the company. “There was no prerequisite or limitation to this conversation. This was confirmed several times with its publisher before the interview took place and after its end.”
In a request for comments regarding KASS SMS, CBS sent the same declaration. Kass did not immediately respond.
Belichick, 73, and Hudson, 24, have been linked since last year. She attended several events with him, including the honors of the February NFL.
