Saquon Barkley is the first Philadelphia Eagle to appear on the cover of the video game of Madden NFL since the old quarter-Arrière Donovan McNabb in 2005.
Unlike McNabb, Barkley is not a local eagle written and raised by the organization. For some, Barkley is a defector, as a former member of the Giants Rivaux de New York.
The Giants’ decision to let Barkley leave the organization was criticized as one of the worst mistakes in recent history after the ball carrier led the Eagles to the Super Bowl and broke the franchise precipitation record.
“They made a very big mistake, and I think it will cost them a little,” McNabb told PK Press Club Digital of the Giants.

For McNabb, the Giants’ decision to let Barkley go may not be a decision as bad by Eagles more than a decade earlier.
McNabb, who has played his entire career in the Eagles under the former head coach of Philadelphia and current coach of the Chiefs of Kansas City, Andy Reid, thinks that his former team made a mistake in dismissing Reid after the 2012 season. The Eagles exchanged McNabb at the Rival Washington Redskins (now the commanders) three years earlier.
“There are a few errors they made. I was first and Andy followed,” said McNabb. “Now you have sit down, and you start to watch, and you see how [Reid’s] The career has gone to a different level. “”
Reid won three super bowls with the chiefs and went to two others after reaching one and losing it with the Eagles. Reid is also credited with the editorial staff and development of the chiefs of the superstar Patrick Mahomes.
For McNabb, “the error” of the dismissing Eagles Reid was greater than that of the giants abandoning Barkley.
“To be honest with you, I would say that the Eagles lose Andy,” said McNabb when asked for the biggest error between the two.

“With Saquon, it’s new, it’s fresh. But I go back there years ago with the success I had with Andy, and I would say that, after my departure, things were a bit from top to bottom. It was not as coherent as it was, and it was to blame for that. And you look at what Andy did now and what he could have done if he was still in the decision.
Despite a successful 14 -year coach career in Philadelphia, Reid has already completed it since the care of chiefs in 2013.
Reid led the Eagles to a record of 273-146 (.583) in Philadelphia with a record of 10-9 (0.526) in the playoffs but never won a Super Bowl.
In 12 years at the head of the chiefs, Reid has a record of 143-53 (.730) with a record of series of 18-8 (.692).
However, the Eagles beat Reid’s Chiefs in this year’s Super Bowl, avenging their loss of Super Bowl in 2023 against the chiefs.

And Barkley played a big role in this championship season.
“This is why we simply say:” Hey, we appreciate you. And good luck to you guys in the future “” said McNabb about the giants.
