The Indiana Pacers are starting to look like a team of destiny, if they didn’t look like it.

Following 15 in the fourth quarter, the Pacers erased this deficit and managed a huge upheaval in match 1 of the NBA final on Thursday evening against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 15 -point lead at the start of the fourth quarter was the biggest in the OKC match. But after the Pacers called for a dead time, they made a 15-4 race to return to less than four. The Thunder ended up moving away a little to lead by new, but they answered with another race, this 10-2, to suddenly follow one with 48.1 seconds to play.

Gilgeous-Alexander missed a shot with 11.0 seconds to play, and Tyrese Haliburton responded with the winner of the match with 0.3 seconds. It was Indiana’s first lead in the whole match because most of the match had been all Thunder.

The Indiana came as two -digit assemblies, and this sought to cover the majority of the competition. Instead, this is a victory for 111-110 for the Pacers, their first in the NBA final since 2000.

In the last 9:27, the Pacers outstripped the Thunder, 32-16, and it was a 12-2 race in the final 2:38.

This is still another crazy return for the Pacers this qualifying series – in nearly 1,500 playoff games since 1997, only four times, a team returned to win after having followed by seven points and more in the last minute of the fourth quarter or overtime – the Pacers won three of these games this season only. This did not meet these criteria, but nevertheless, it was set up as an incredible return.

“It’s not over until it is finished,” said Haliburton, making his best impression on Yogi Berra after the match. “It’s not over until the clock does not touch zero.”

Surprisingly, no Pacer had 20 points in the match, while the MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a 38 summit for the Thunder. But, six pacers scored two figures and five had at least 14.
