Colombian senator Miguel Uibe was shot in Bogota on Saturday, according to the government and his party, and the local media reported that he was in a local hospital in serious condition.
The 39 -year -old senator, who presented to the presidency in 2026, is a member of the party of the conservative Democratic Center of the opposition founded by the former Colombian president Alvaro Uibe. The two men are not linked.
According to a party statement sentenced the attack, the senator organized a campaign event in a public park in the Fonbon district in the capital on Saturday when “armed subjects shot him on the back”.
