At least 10 killed in separate road accidents across the country

Ghotki / DI Khan: At least 10 people were killed and dozens of others were injured in separate road accidents in Ghotki, Dera Ismail Khan, Layyah and Chichawatni on Sunday.

Four people were killed and two more injured when a car left the road and plunged into a ditch while coming from the village of Di Khan de Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rescue officials confirmed that among the deceased were two brothers and a child and added that the bodies of the deceased and injured had been transferred to a local hospital for formalities and medico-legal treatments, respectively.

In a separate tragic incident, three individuals were killed and more than eight were injured when an excessive truck overturned on the M-5 motorway near the Ghotki in Sindh.

Highway police said the deceased and the injured were all from the Alipur Jatoi region of Muzaffargarh. The animals transported in the truck were also injured in the incident, police added.

In another road accident, an excess speed bus was involved in an accident near Nawan Kot, leading to the death of two people and 26 other injuries, rescue officials said.

The passenger bus was traveling from Lahore to Karor Lal Esan, Layyah. Six of the injured are in critical condition and have been referred to the Nishtar Multan hospital for treatment.

In addition, a lawyer was killed and two others were injured when a car overturned in the Iqbal Nagar region in Chichawatni. They returned from the village of 19/14 l, said hospital officials.
