The actions of Chinese defense companies jumped on Monday after information on Pakistan’s plans to buy J-35 stealth hunting planes in China, according to a Bloomberg report.

Avic Shenyang Aircraft Co., the manufacturer of the J-35, reached its daily limit of 10% in Shanghai Trading, extending the gains for a third consecutive session. Aerospace Nanhu Electronic Information Technology Co. also saw an increase, increasing up to 15%.

The rally followed an official declaration on Pakistan social networks confirming its intention to acquire the jets, after weeks of unofficial reports.

Pakistani officials had previously indicated that the pilots were already in China following training before the expected deliveries.

J-35 Fighter Jet offers furtive capacities, long-range and in depth

The fifth generation J-35A fighter plane in China, which will soon be delivered to Pakistan, presents stealth technology, advanced sensors and deep typing capacities that could considerably increase the air power of Pakistan, according to defense analyst Brandon J. Weichert.

Developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, the J-35A is the second fifth generation plane in China after the Chengdu J-20. It is equipped with an electronic numbering radar (AESA), electro-optical targeting systems and advanced aircraft to improve the awareness of the situation and the precision of targeting.

Designed to escape detection, the furtive profile of the plane reduces its radar section. It is compatible with the long-range air-to-air missiles PL-15 and PL-15, offering a major advantage in the fight beyond visual storage.

Propelled by Russian engines RD-93 or Chinese Turbofan WS-19, the J-35A can reach speeds up to 1,367 MPH. Deliveries to Pakistan could start in August, the pilots already following training in China.

The jet should replace the aging fleet of Pakistan from F-16 and Mirages. Weichert notes that the capabilities of the J-35A will allow Pakistan to better counter the Indian air defenses and to carry out deep strike missions, potentially deploying regional air balance.
