- New projects include AI for financial companies and skills training
NVIDIA has announced new partnerships with the British government and financial regulators to extend the use of AI tools.
The company has revealed new collaborations with the Department of Sciences, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on the use of AI in workflows.
Nvidia says that this decision, which also includes the creation of the “Forum of the British Sovereign Industry” to accelerate the country’s ecosystem of the country, seeks to advance its ambition so that Great Britain is an “manufacturer of AI, not an AI taker”.
United Kingdom AI and NVIDIA
The news was announced by the CEO of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, in London Tech Week 2025, where he joined British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and the Minister of Investment Poppy Gustafsson on stage.
Starmer and Huang both agreed that the United Kingdom had to “lean” at AI, arguing that it will make the country safer, with cybersecurity protections and economic growth.
To support this, a new NVIDIA AI British Technology Center will seek to offer “practical” training in AI, data science and accelerated IT, focusing on manufacturers of foundation models, an embodied AI, materials science and modeling earth systems.
A new digital sand powered by AI propelled by NVIDIA and FAC will offer financial service companies a “digital test environment”, which allows them to try new AI initiatives and services.
And the company will work with DSIT to give British universities access to AI tools, 6G research platforms and training resources to stimulate research and development on a-native wireless networks.
“We have major projects when it comes to developing the next wave of innovations on AI here in the United Kingdom – not only so that we can provide the economic growth necessary for our change plan, but maintain our position as a world leader,” added the British Secretary of State for Sciences, Innovation and Technology that Peter Kyle.
“At the heart of this, it is to ensure that we have the infrastructure to feed the AI, so I welcome Nvidia which set up the UK forum of the sovereign AI industry-bringing together the main British companies to develop and deploy this through the United Kingdom so that we can stimulate growth and opportunities.”
