- The new Windows 11 24 -hour update The packaging gaming fixes have been interrupted for some PCs
- These devices had a “compatibility problem”, which means that they needed a revised update
- Microsoft said that this modified update should be available for all Windows 11 users, but some still point out that they don’t have the patch
The latest Windows 11 update has arrived, exciting important fixes for PC players running the 24H2 version of the operating system, but it has undergone an unusual technical problem that causes some confusion.
Windows noticed that Microsoft supported the break button with the deployment of the June update (officially known as KB5060842), at least for some users after starting to be deployed yesterday.
As Microsoft lets us know via the Windows Message Center: “Note: this update is gradually deployed on the devices running Windows 11, 24h2 version throughout the day. We have identified a compatibility problem affecting a limited set of these devices. If your device is assigned, you will receive a revised update with all the safety improvements of June 2025 by the end of the day. ”
Microsoft did not specify what is the problem of compatibility, but given the language used in terms of “limited” quantity of affected devices, the problem is being read.
However, looking at some Reddit Threads – mainly the official announcement of Jen Gentleman’s patch from Windows engineering team – there are a number of Windows 11 confused users wondering where their updates are. In addition, there are people with several PCs indicating that the June patch has been received, but others have not done so.
In theory, at the time of writing the editorial moment, yesterday ended a few hours ago (based on the Pacific Time, as used in Microsoft’s post on the messages center) – and therefore everyone should have the patch here. (Either the original or modified update to resolve the compatibility writer, which apparently has a slightly different version number).
However, there are comments on the Reddit wire above in the direction of: “Didn’t it go at midnight now?”
Analysis: What’s going on-and what is the big problem anyway?
Microsoft may have slipped with its deadline here. I would barely be surprised if this is the case, and this could be a minor delay. However, what is a little more worrying is that reports dispersed on Reddit people end up with broken operating systems (frozen on green screens or black screens) after applying this June update. There is not yet enough of these complaints to be really worried, but it is something to keep an eye.
Are these people who accidentally put the update for a vulnerable PC for compatibility bugs, before Microsoft made the brakes? Maybe, but it’s just a conjecture. However, if you get an impatient – and the players could be in particular – I would strongly advise to manually install the June update if it is not automatically channeled on your PC via Windows Update. Mainly because you may not receive it for a good reason, and forcing the upgrade, you could encounter a presentation problem.
Players in particular will be eager from KB5060842 because this correction applies some crucial adjustments as mentioned at the beginning. This includes the corrective for problems with certain locking PC games in Windows 11 24H2 and improvements with stability for NVIDIA GPUs (as well as possible resolution for problems with mouse or keyboard lag). All of this was seen in the preview version of this fix last month.
Another new feature introduced with this fix is the inter-apparel CV. This allows you to transparently resume work on the OneDrive files between your PC and your smartphone (and it will eventually evolve towards a greater vision of this functionality).
There is also a bunch of exclusive powers for Copilot + PC, including an application co -pilot option for the Click To Do, and a modification that came from the left field which was not in the update of the preview in May. This is a limit of 60 days which was imposed on the restoration points of the system, so from now on, the dining points which have more than two months will disappear in the ether.
For the uninitiated, System Restore is a feature that allows you to take an instantaneous of the current configuration of your PC in a working state, so that if a kind of bug is wreaking havoc on your device, you can in theory (assuming that you can access the office) go up to this point. Not that there is a guarantee that it will work, the mind, but it is an option which is worth trying during troubleshooting.
This is a feature that Microsoft has not touched for a long time, so why play with this way now? It’s a good question, and I can’t think of a good answer, really. If I had to guess, maybe restoring the system is simply not used these days, so it is reduced.
