- The researchers were able to access a Github site plan now deleted
- The site has shown plans for an AI website for the US government
- It will also contain a chatbot and implementation tools
An apparently disclosed github page revealed that the Trump administration is working on a website called AI.GOV, which should be launched on July 4 in order to try to “accelerate government innovation with AI”
The site was discovered by 404Media Researchers after a first version of the website were published on Github by the General Services Administration (GSA), The register Reports.
Now withdrawn, the page was aimed at serving as a hub for government agencies to allow the integration of AI into their processes.
Technological expenditure
The GSA department responsible for the website seems to be the technological transformation service (TTS).
Directed by Thomas Shedd, a close partner of Elon Musk, TTS will apparently launch the AI website with three key components; A chatbot, an “all-in-one” API which allows connections between existing systems and the models of AI of Anthropic, Google or Openai, and “Console”-a “revolutionary tool to analyze the implementation on the agency scale”, according to the page.
The initial staging site suggests that the AI.GOV site will serve AMA models via the foundation of Amazon, and most of the models listed in API documentation on the Github page are Fedramp certified for the use of the government, have confirmed the researchers.
However, they note that an identified and listed model from the company of IA Cohere is not Fedramp certified.
The fact that the American government plans to take advantage of AI or increase its links with AI companies will probably not be a surprise for anyone – the Trump administration pushing hard for general adoption of the government.
Earlier in 2025, it was announced that IRS could use AI to replace dismissed workers after mass layoffs in the hands of the Elon Musk government department.
Other departments such as the dry and the VA would have prepared for “restructuring” because the ministry has investigated if AI could be used to replace human workers in a range of government services.
