The president and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, urged the international community on Saturday to play its role in the brokerage of an immediate cease-fire while the Irano-Israeli military confrontation threatens to become uncontrollable, warning that the world “cannot afford this conflict to transform into Iraq 2.0 or in the World War”.

Addressing a press conference in Brussels alongside a parliamentary delegation, Bilawal spoke concerned about the growth of regional instability and the potential benefits for neighboring countries. “We certainly do not want war on our borders,” he said.

“Pakistan has condemned the strikes that have taken place in the last two days of our neighboring country, and we will continue to defend peace at all our borders – whether with Afghanistan, Iran or India.”

Criticizing what he called the world failure to resolve the conflicts diplomatically, he said: “It has become far too easy to wage war every month. What’s wrong with this generation? You were supposed to protect us from the scourge of war by dialogue and diplomacy. Instead, the large -scale war has become the default framework for any dispute. ”

Stressing the generational consequences of the war, he added: “It is much easier for older generations to start these conflicts, but it is my generation that will have to pick up the pieces.”

Calling for restraint in the Middle East, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs said: “I absolutely call on the international community to play its role by immediately imposing a cease-fire in this Iranian conflict with occupying forces in Palestine. We cannot have another war of essence. It does not serve any of our interests. “

Regarding regional problems, Bilawal has reiterated the desire of Pakistan of sustainable peace in South Asia, in particular thanks to the resolution of the long -standing dispute of cashmere and the problems linked to water with India. He said that Pakistan had always sought peace thanks to the composite dialogue, but that India had not failed.

“The international community must intensify and engage with India. Military confrontation is not a solution to the dispute or terrorism of cashmere. Dialogue is the only way to follow, “he said, calling him a” moral obligation “for the world powers to help the two countries return to the negotiation table.

The president of the PPP warned that climbing between two nuclear weapons was not an option. “Climbing is not a solution to the problems to which India and Pakistan,” he said.

He also criticized India for unilaterally suspending the Indus Water Treaty (IWT), appealing to a direct threat to Pakistan’s survival. “This is the first water war between two nuclear powers. Pakistan considers that it is a war without choice and seeks the help of the international community in this regard. ”

“The Jammu and cashmere dispute must be resolved in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” he said. Bilawal was flanked by members of the parliamentary delegation, notably the Federal Minister of Climate Change, Dr Musadik Malik, Senator of the PPP Sherry Rehman, former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, former Defense Minister Khurram Dastgir and others.

“We are here to present the position of Pakistan on recent tensions with India and exhibit the anti-Pakistani agenda in New Delhi,” concluded Bilawal.
