Pakistan provides the repatriation of blocked students and pilgrims in Iran and Iraq – Ishaq Dar

Islamabad:

The Pakistani Darm Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that, in the light of the current regional situation, the government takes all the necessary measures to ensure the well-being and security of Pakistani nationals.

Speaking on Sunday, Dar said that the evacuation of 450 Pakistani pilgrims from Iran had been successfully completed the day before. He added that arrangements were also made to safely evacuate Pakistani students residing in Iran, the first phase involving the return of 154 students.

In neighboring Iraq, Pakistani pilgrims remain blocked due to aerial space closures. Mr. Dar assured that the Pakistan Embassy in Iran is in constant contact with affected people, and efforts are underway to ensure their sure housing and their potential evacuation.

A 24 -hour crisis management unit (CMU) is active at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help Pakistani nationals. The CMU can be contacted at +92 51-9207887 or by e-mail at [email protected].

The Embassies of Pakistan in the region follow the situation closely and are fully engaged in the assistance and supervision of the sure repatriation of citizens.
