Olivia Rodrigo rejects the “crown” after the protest of the Buckingham Palace

Olivia Rodrigo on Saturday recently used her huge Instagram follow -up to express her support for demonstrators in the middle of continuous repression against immigrants.

The singer shared her reflections on the crisis and declared that she defended “our right to freedom of expression and to the freedom to protest”.

She then shared an image of a sign of the current protest with a crossed crown and the words (not) “in the United States, rejecting” monarchical control “and demanding respect for democracy.

The photo of the crossed crown on the sign attracted parallels with recent events in the United Kingdom, where the republican anti-monarchy group organized a demonstration outside the Buckingham Palace during the Colors of the herd colors on June 14, 2025.

The event, marking the official birthday of King Charles, saw the demonstrators sing “not my king” and the banners of waves, criticizing the relevance of the royal family.

The demonstration coincided with the military pump of the parade, which the Republic described as “superficial coverage of a corrupt institution”.

King Charles and Prince William, who participated in the non -won “military ranks” ceremony, were particularly exposed of demonstrators pleading for the abolition of the monarchy.

Rodrigo’s post, although focused on local issues, seemed to symbolize a rejection of hierarchical power, reflecting the requests of the British demonstrators for an elected head of state.
