The Bilawal requests the dialogue while the delegation ends the visit of Brussels on the Indian aggression

The Pakistani delegation, led by former Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, concluded her Brussels tour, calling for European leaders to help descend the tensions with India following a fragile ceasefire in May.

The delegation was formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to present Islamabad’s point of view on his recent conflict with India. The visit was aimed at obtaining international support, especially from the European Union, to prevent a new escalation between the two nuclear neighbors.

“We have to bring the region back on the edge of the war,” said Bilawal in a press release on social networks, urging Europe to act as champion of the international order based on rules.

During their visit to Brussels, the delegation met parliamentarians from the EU, the EU commission, the Belgian management, international tanks and the foreign media. The delegation was put pressure for dialogue and cooperation against terrorism with India, highlighting the dangers of a nuclear conflict.

He also underlined the challenges posed by the suspension of India from the Industry Water Treaty in 1960, which governs the shared use of the Indus River system.

The Pakistani delegation has expressed serious concerns concerning the “armament” of India water resources and called for restraint after the ceasefire agreement negotiated by Washington in May.

“Europe, as champion of international law, must help us defuse this situation,” said Bilawal. He also expressed concerns about the risk of new water conflicts, noting that the Industry Water Treaty had not yet been relaunched despite the ceasefire.

Sherry Rehman, an eminent member of the delegation, said that if some members would return to Pakistan, others would visit Strasbourg for new discussions. She stressed that the global diplomatic framework should be restored to counter the growing strains of international law.
