- Microsoft 365 Local is a fully on -site solution for data sovereignty requirements
- It is built on the local private sovereign cloud Azure and Microsoft
- Redmond wants to provide “digital stability” for all regions
Microsoft has launched a new version of Microsoft 365 which runs entirely on site, designed for low latency and high security needs, operating on local Azure.
The company detailed how the update has made it possible to deploy workloads in sovereign cloud data centers or environments – a response to the growing desire for more controlled environments worldwide.
By launching versions on M365 site, Redmond aims to improve security, compliance and governance, with a particular emphasis on European customers who must comply with data sovereignty regulations.
M365 can now operate on pre-prem
Among the key elements of the sovereign cloud of Redmond are a sovereign public cloud, a sovereign private cloud and clouds of national partners.
The public version is available in all regions of the European data center and guarantees that the data remains in Europe, under European law, and is only controlled by European workers. The product is in preview, but should generally be available later this year.
By going a little further, the private cloud uses Azure Local as a basis for on -site environments and operated by partner. It is intended for organizations that need operational autonomy and air systems.
Finally, clouds of national partners such as Bleu France and the Delos Cloud of Germany are designed to respond more to the standard of local sovereignty within the EU.
Microsoft 365 local only works on local Azure – the foundations of the Microsoft private sovereign cloud. “Microsoft 365 Local offers customers an additional choice by bringing together Microsoft’s productivity server software in a local Azure environment which can fully perform in the customer’s own data center,” said the company.
Speaking on the current “geopolitical volatility” and Microsoft’s desire to provide “digital stability”, the vice-president of the executive vice-president and commercial director Judson Althoff added: “Microsoft is proud to offer the widest set of sovereignty solutions available on the market today and we will constantly look for means to ensure that our European customers have the options Need and we must constantly seek confidence. “
