The United Nations:
Pakistan called for an “urgent and collective response” to the increase in hate speeches, disinformation and violent extremism, claiming that such stories fracture societies and endanger peace and stability.
“All of this targets people from different confessions, including Muslims, as well as individuals based on race, sex and nationality,” said Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, permanent representative of Pakistan to the UN, told a high -level high -level event to counter the speech of hatred.
He said that Monday’s meeting recalled “our common responsibility to counter intolerance, maintain dignity and safeguard pluralism”.
