- Max obtains his own redesign of the home page assisted by AI
- Updating the Stream Destination page will start to deploy in the United States this week
- His redesign comes in the middle of the last layout of Netflix which is criticized by users
Listen, users of Max, because it is the last streaming service to receive a major overhaul of its home page.
Only a few weeks after Netflix unveiled its own user interface overhaul (IU) – that which Netflix subscribers filled with rage described as “terrible” – one of its greatest competitors is also to obtain an update of the destination page. But, don’t worry, Max fans, it will not be as frustrating to use as the last Redesk of Netflix.
In a press release from Warner Bros. Discovery, Max’s parent company has confirmed that an “improved navigation experience” would start in the United States this week (June 16 to 22). It is not known when the inhabitants of other countries where Max is available, such as Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, will receive the refreshment of the home page.
What is clear, however, is that Max has removed a page from the Netflix game book and really rethought its destination page to reflect that of the old layout of the best streaming service. Here is what Max’s current home page looks like:
And here is what the Max redesigned destination page will look like once it is distributed at its world user base:
As you can see above, version 2.0 of Max’s user interface seems much cleaner than its ancestor. On the one hand, the icons bar was moved to the left side of the page. Meanwhile, his films and television programs are presented in the form of rectangular tiles, rather than the vertical aesthetics that the previous home page had.
If this format seems familiar, it is because it is an almost identical design to the home page of the Netflix application before its recent overhaul. I am sure that those of us who hate the new Netflix user interface will be a little jealous with the layout of Max 2.0, then.
There is also more in this update. When Max users fly over a tile, a corresponding preview video automatically plays after a few seconds. According to Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), he “relies on the success of the launch of the previous functionality of Max, which delivered video previews with the audio on the carousel hero of the home page earlier this year.”
WBD is well aware that such a functionality can be intrusive enough for users who cross its library of the best Max films and the best Max programs. To fight this, the entertainment giant will allow customers to switch this functionality in or deactivate in the Settings and Reading menu. So, if you don’t want automated video to play while oscillating on a specific film or program, you can deactivate it and never have to think about it again.
Unsurprisingly, Max will soon support artificial intelligence (AI) as part of its user experience.
According to WBD, an internal AI assisted tool will also be launched on the platform in the coming weeks. It will be used to “identify and suggest” moments of appointments “, alias of recognizable scenes of specific films and emissions. This will be used in the context of cyclical video previews of each production, with the IA tool highlighting – to the maximum team – which sees the most touched the most seduced on a film or a television series.
What do you think of the next overhaul of Max’s home page? Will this convince you to cancel your Netflix account and register for the WBD Super Stream, which will be renamed HBO Max in the coming months? Let me know in the comments.
