Karachi:
Head Minister Murad Ali Shah said on Tuesday that water was life and that natural resources protection is a collective responsibility.
In a message on the occasion of “World Day to fight against desertification and drought”, CM Sindh also said that June 17 is a day to raise awareness that the land transforms into deserts, the increase in drought and affecting the environment.
He said the provincial government is working on projects such as planting trees, harvesting rainwater and modern water management to prevent land from becoming desert. CM Shah warned that if the water from the Indus river does not reach the sea, our coastal belt could be destroyed.
He stressed that the maintenance of the natural flow of the Industry river is essential to maintain the Delta of the Indus in life. The chief minister said that lower residents are recognized on the global scale in the context of environmental justice.
He added that guaranteeing access to water at the Indus Delta is a request for environmental justice to protect land, the environment and life.
