- The Radad Rocket Highpoint 7604A card is half the size of the previous iteration
- Delivers nearly 60 gbit / s using SSD Gen5 without power cable
- The first review shows that it offers solid performance on Intel and AMD platforms
The HighPoint 7604A rocket is a PCIe Gen5 raid card that targets professionals who need an extreme sequential speed in compact workstations.
Although it is based on the inheritance of the larger Rocket 1608A model, it manages to reduce the form factor by almost half while maintaining similar performance.
The 7604a fits into a configuration with a half length and is entirely powered by the PCIe bus, without external power required.
Eclipse previous previous models
Tweaktown Recently examined the card, describing it as “an engineering masterpiece” which provides a sequential speed of 59.8 GB / s using only four SSD M.2 Gen5.
This performance eclipses even the record models of company reinstruction of the company. He succeeds with a Raid Broadcom PEX89048A controller and four seats Gen5 X4 M.2.
The tests took place both for Intel and AMD platforms. Intel Systems had the advantage in benchmarks like Anvil and Blackmagic, while AMD took the lead in certain file transfer scenarios.
Associated with four Samsung 9100 Pro discs (Tweaktown Note that the discs must be naked to adapt to the card), the 7604A rocket has reached a sequential flow of almost 60 GB / s in CrystalDiskmark. “Better than any AIC that we have never met,” observed the editor -in -chief of the site of the site, Jon Coulter.
On Atto, he delivered up to 54 GB / s, more than double the flow reached with the 1608A using eight crucial T705 discs.
Tweaktown also indicated that the 7604A had beaten several laboratory files, marking 93,000 points in Anvil’s reference, far exceeding all AICS based on flash.
Users can configure RAID software via Windows, which supports RAID 0 and RAID 1, or use the HIGHPOINT configuration utility to unlock additional options like RAID 10. The card also supports SSD PCIE GEN4, although the flow rate is reduced when used in this mode.
At $ 999, down compared to its original price of $ 1999, the Rocket 7604A is cheaper than its predecessor and many competitive solutions. It is clearly not designed for occasional users, but for anyone needs a cutting edge in a forced space, this card offers definitively.
Tweaktown I assigned it to 98% (abandoning a few points for performance and value, but marking the maximum quality and functionalities) and and has appointed the choice of the publisher.
