In a tragic incident, the renowned actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her apartment in the region of Karachi Gulshan-E-Iqbal.
Confirming the report, the police said that the body seemed to have about a week, adding that the actress lived alone in the apartment.
The incident was revealed when the neighbors of Ayesha informed his family of a foul smell emitting from his apartment. After being informed, the police rushed to the scene and transferred their body to the Jinnah postgraduate medical center for medico-legal formalities.
Later, his body went from JPMC to the morgue of the Edhi Foundation in Sohrab Goth. The police said that Ayesha’s post mortem exam would be carried out at the request of his family.
The time and the place of his funeral prayers will be announced later.
It is relevant to mention here that Ayesha has played memorable characters in some of the most emblematic Pakistani television documents such as Afshan, Uroosa, Aanch, Bandhan and Shaam Se Pehle.
Born in 1948, Ayesha was the older sister of actress Khalida Riasat.
One of her most memorable roles was in Afshan, in which she played a wetwoman whose husband and brother were to flee the country during the partition for security reasons. She raises her child and the daughter of her brother Afshan as she awaits the return of her husband.
Commenting on her disappearance, the president of Pakistan Arts Council, Ahmed Shah, said that she had acted for more than 50 years and that her death was a great loss for the dramatic scene of the country.
