This week, Oakley and Meta finally revealed their smart glasses (and they seem a bit great), we published our review Nintendo Switch 2 (it’s great, but not perfect), and Donald Trump launched a mobile phone (yes, really, and it’s more foreign than it seems).
To make up for all this and more, we have this rapid summary of the seven largest technological news of the week, as well as links to complete history so that you can dive deeper into the subject.
Once you are finished, be sure to consult our choices for the seven new films and television programs to broadcast this weekend (June 20).
7. Garmin launched something other than a watch
The last of Garmin in a real dam of new versions, the Garmin Index Sleep Monitor, is something other than a watch for once – designed to be worn on the upper arm, it is a dedicated sleep tracker. With a battery life up to a week and a more precise signal than wrist -based trackers, the idea seems to be to exchange your Garmin watch for sleep tracking during the night, because many people find breathtaking watches uncomfortable to wear in bed.
We know that it was going to happen for a while and are delighted to grasp them – and this is the last of the trend of well -being trackers without screen. Polar also comes into play with an alternative without screen without subscription, although it is not launched before September. If you are tired of the idea of another flashing screen in your life, you can consult the Discreet Fitness Tracker Guide this week here.
6. XREAL launched new smart glasses
The new intelligent glasses of Xreal One Pro Ar are the best we have ever seen, largely because of their new optical configuration, which offers a larger image and a clearer image (due to reduced reflections) than any of its competitors.
It looks like a real precursor of the Android XR specifications on which it works, and if Project will have boasts of these features and more, Xreal could be on a killer machine.
The only drawback of the impressive nature of the Xreal One Pro is, as you can expect, its price. Currently, a pair costs $ 649 / £ 579, and if you take into account additional “optional” modules like the Xreal Beam Pro ($ 199 $ / 189), it can start to add up. Although as a companion of portable entertainment and productivity, Xreal glasses will not let you down if you decide to recover them.
5. Trump tried to make phones great again … We are not convinced
Trump Mobile estimated his mobile service at $ 45.47 per month, a wink not too subtle to the two mandates of Trump as president of the United States. Beyond that, however, the service, and in particular the new T1 Gold phone, do not offer too many direct references to the President in office.
We focused on the skyscraper system, which offers a mixture of older and new technologies (some are delighted with the 3.5 mm headphone jack) and claim that it will be harmful to believe that it will be done in the United States.
Android phone 15 of $ 499 should arrive in September, just in time for the next iPhone. We can’t wait to see this match.
4. The new DJ of Apple Music AI impressed a lot
During the WWDC event of Apple, the company unveiled its new Falling Automix functionality for Apple Music. Unlike the CrossFade function, which simply crosses a song to another to avoid silence gaps, Automix creates a transparent reading experience using the correspondence of beating and stretching time to connect each song in a queue.
Although we have a few months until Automix deploys with the wider version of iOS 26, it is currently in a beta version of the developer, and those who have early access already reveals its online capacities, marking one of the first viral trends in Apple music.
It is a big step towards improving the meaning of the Apple Music community, even if it is still behind Spotify on the social front. But from what we see so far, Automix is a new fun and engaging feature that will gain many users, and as a spotify fan, I hope it will take notes.
3. We spent a week with Alexa +
It has been months since Alexa +, his reimagination infused with the AI of her popular vocal assistant, but we have been waiting from a full public version and a chance to try the platform, so far.
We spent a week with Alexa + Early Access and found that although it was not entirely cooked (and sometimes Buggy), the new platform shows a huge promise.
It is the first LLM that seems aware of the smart house, and it means that it can help you configure, adjust and improve your smart home, provided that all gadgets work with Alexa and can be discovered by the new Alexa +.
This also turns out to be a big chatter, and it is very likely that your relationship with Alexa + will be very different from the one you had with the Alexa OG, friendly and uninhabitable.
Meta has widened its Smart Glasses partnership with Essilorluxottica by introducing a pair of Smart Oakley glasses based on the brand’s HSTN design.
This writer thinks it’s beautiful, but our office office cat does not recognize the distinctive look. Aside from the aesthetics, the glasses are full of hardware and software upgrades.
We are talking about the duplicate of the life of the meta-ray battery (it is now eight hours instead of four), improved cameras (3K quality video capture) and improved AI assistance, which includes things like asking questions about surfing conditions and golf technique.
They should be launched later this summer, from $ 399 / £ 399, but a limited edition pair will increase for pre -order on July 11, for $ 499 / £ 499.
1. We examined the Nintendo 2 switch
The Nintendo Switch 2 is finally there, and we have completely tested the brand new exam console in the past two weeks. In short, this is a phenomenal upgrade on the original switching system. Although it is certainly lacking in this innovation Hallmark Nintendo, what we have here is a powerful hybrid game device.
We now have a crunchy 1080p screen, capable of refreshing rates up to 120 Hz. In addition, the pocket computer also has HDR and variable refresh rate technology for smoother on the move. Players who prefer moored mode are not excluded in the cold, because those who play on a television or a monitor can benefit from 4K and 1440p resolution settings.
Although the battery life is certainly leaving a lot to be desired, the Switch 2 is nevertheless an accomplished portable game console, and we are looking forward to seeing what types of Nintendo games have in stores in the years to come.
