Islambad: Pakistan categorically rejected the allegations of the Indian media citing the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, saying that Islamabad had asked for a cease-fire after a recent case with India.

Neighboring nuclear arms rivals had engaged in a serious military confrontation after the non -provoked missile attacks from India against targets in Pakistani territory last month.

The Pakistani army launched a reprisal operation named Bunyan UM Marsoos (Iron Wall) to counter Indian assault, which New Delhi described as an answer to the alleged Pakistani involvement in the attack on tourists in the Pahalgam of Jammu and the cashmere illegally occupied in April.

The two countries have suffered loss of life and property while Pakistan Air Force has shot down at least six Indian hunting planes, including expensive, burst French planes, while successfully defending the country’s territorial integrity.

The 87-hour conflict, which feared a nuclear war between the two countries, finally ended with a cease-fire negotiated by the United States. Since then, India has repeatedly said that Pakistan had first stretched their hand in the United States to interrupt the fighting, an assertion that Islamabad vehemently denied.

“We categorically reject the allegations that Pakistan asked for a cease-fire after the Indian assault,” said the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement published on Friday evening.

The spokesman said that DPM DAR, in his interviews and media statements, explained that Pakistan had responded decisively to the Indian assault in the exercise of his right to self-defense.

He explained that friendly states, including Saudi Arabia, and in particular the United States, played a crucial role in the facilitation of the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.

“The event sequence clearly shows that Pakistan has not asked anyone a cease-fire but agreed that the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called DAR at 8:15 am on May 10, 2025 and informed that India was ready to stop if Pakistan is arranged,” said the spokesperson.

The FO also declared that the FM had confirmed Pakistan’s consent to the proposal. He said that later around 9 a.m., Prince FM Saudi also called DAR and informed the same thing in India and asked for the same confirmation as Secretary of State Marco Rubio had sought earlier.

The American president re -reading his position and even proposed to mediate the long -standing dispute of the cashmere between the two countries – a position also underlined by the United States Department of State.

Although Pakistan has rented time again and has credited President Trump for his role in the ceasefire, which he himself highlighted several times, India has denied any involvement of the United States.
