PM Shehbaz, Naqvi Vow justice after the death of the Swabi police

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned a deadly attack on police staff in Swabi, who claimed the lives of two officers.

On Friday, two police officers lost their lives in a shooting at the end of the evening in Swabi, after unidentified armed men opened fire on them, the police confirmed.

The attack occurred within the limits of the IDS police station. The gendarme Jamal Din and the driver Zahid were killed on the spot.

The attackers escaped the premises before the authorities arrived. The bodies were then transferred to a neighboring hospital.

In a press release from the PM Office Media Wing, Shehbaz offered prayers for martyred officers and has given sincere condolences to their families.

He ordered an in -depth investigation into the attack and asked the authorities to translate the culprits into justice with an “exemplary punishment”.

“We will continue our fight against terrorism until this threat is completely eradicated in the country,” he said.

The Prime Minister also welcomed the police for his persistent efforts to protect the homeland.

“We are proud of our police officers who thwart the harmful creations of terrorists against our beloved country,” he said.

In addition, the Minister of the Interior Naqvi also paid tribute to the fallen officers Jamaluddin and Zahid who lost his lives in the exercise of their functions.

“We are on the shoulder with mourning families,” said the minister, expressing a deep sympathy and condolences.

Naqvi noted that the officers had reached “the highest rank of sacrifice” and said that their bravery and their service would be memories forever.

He praised the role of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police, calling them “courageous sons” who had made countless sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

Funeral prayers for killed officers were detained on the Shah Mansoor police line, assisted by senior police officials and local authorities.
