The government appointed Naveed Asghar Chaudhry on Saturday as an acting president of the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) following the resignation of Lieutenant Gen (Retd) Sajjad Ghani earlier in the day.
A notification issued by the Ministry of Water Resources has confirmed the appointment of Chaudhry. Ghani was president of WAPDA for almost three years before resigning.
Chaudhry previously was acting president of WAPDA in 2022 after the resignation of LT Gen (RETD) Muzammil Hussain for “personal reasons”.
