Muzaffarabad:
Former president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the main Diplomat Masood Khan warned that the climbing of the Iran-Israeli conflict could have serious and large-scale implications for national security and Pakistan stability.
In a series of interviews with the media, Khan expressed a deep concern in the face of the enlargement of the scope of hostilities between Iran and Israel, warning that a prolonged war could trigger a new wave of refugee influx in Pakistan, similar to the consequences of the Afghan conflict.
“If the war takes place, there is a strong possibility of a massive exodus of Iranian refugees towards Pakistan,” he said, noting that such a scenario would erase the resources of Pakistan and the social fabric.
Khan pointed out that a potentially more dangerous result would be the weakening of the Pakistani-Iranian border, making it vulnerable to exploitation by anti-state elements.
“The groups supported by hostile foreign powers, in particular India, such as BLA, BLF and other proxies-could infiltrate Pakistan without control, constituting a serious threat to our internal security,” he warned. By approaching the strategic reasons for Israeli military actions, Khan stressed that such Aviv had targeted the Iranian nuclear infrastructure.
“Israel has already attacked nuclear installations in Natanz, Isfahan, Fordow and in other key places where the enrichment and uranium missile programs are based,” he said. “They claim to have neutralized almost 40% of Iranian air defense systems.”
Khan said that Israel was putting pressure on the United States to intervene directly in the conflict or allow Israel to use tactical nuclear weapons against Iran.
“Israel is pressure for the use of bunker bombs or underground nuclear strikes which, according to them, would limit the radioactive spinoffs of the underground areas,” he explained.
