The Jamshoro district council has a tax budget

Kotri:

The Jamshoro District Council presented a tax budget of 549.8 million rupees for the year 2025-26. The budget was approved unanimously at a meeting of the Council chaired by the Chairman of the District Council Suhail Ahmed Shoro.

According to documents, the Sindh government did not disclose the complete funds from last year, while employee wages increased during the current year. During the session, the account manager Pervez Baloch presented the budget, stressing that 207 million rupees were reserved for development projects.

Additional allowances include: 40.88 million rupees for pensions, press clubs, social work, cultural events and national celebrations; RS97.3 million for engineering and infrastructure work; and 252.5 million rupees for the wages of council employees.

For the current year, the Sindh government should contribute: 352.1 million rupees under the tax chief; RS7.05 million property rentals; and RS994 308 in other rents.

President Shoro pointed out that because of a shortfall of Govt subsidies and non-transfert of funds for SUG (Sindh Urban Governance) employees, the Council had to pay the wages of its allocated budget. In addition, the recovery of the rent of properties belonging to a district council, such as stores and housing, was less than 100%.

Meanwhile, the head of the opposition Shahnawaz Barfat pleaded for more important allowances in development plans and recommended to award more projects of the advice to local entrepreneurs.
