Nashville, tenn. – The biggest question before the training camp for the Vikings of Minnesota revolves around the quarter-Arrière JJ McCarthy, the choice of the team of the team which could not touch the field during the regular season last year due to a torn meniscus.
Head coach Kevin O’Connell and the rest of the organization were categorical that McCarthy, the product Michigan Wolverines, is their guy who is advancing despite the other options on the table.
The team’s words were supported by not signing a real veteran competitor who could eclipse McCarthy before the season, nor write a quarter.

After finishing Minicamp compulsory, McCarthy impressed his teammates with what he can do on the ground. He was in meeting rooms and on the sidelines all last season, but now he is the tight guy TJ HoClenson is already excited for everyone to see what he can do.
“It’s my dog,” said Hockenson to PK Press Club Digital in McCarthy while attending the fifth tight annual university (TEU), the three -day summit managed by the stars of the NFL Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen. “He is one of the best people I am there.

Hockenson really thinks that McCarthy has a brilliant future ahead of him, and he said he wanted to be there “at each stage of the way to help him navigate and help him become who he could be” on and out of the field.
But McCarthy is a year withdrawn from competitive football, begging for what the Vikings will get exactly from the quarter position.
Last season, O’Connell found all the forces of Sam Darnold because the third choice in total of New York Jets had a career season in Minnesota. This may be exactly what the Vikings also hope with McCarthy.
Hochenson believes that it has what is necessary to be great, however.
“He has this change. He excites this when he gets on the ground,” he said. “You don’t really notice that when you hang out and talk to him, but he really wants it. He really wants everything to be perfect, and he is a perfectionist for sure, which is great. This is how you have to be as a quarter in this league.”
Hockenson also said that “the talent of the arm is crazy” by McCarthy, which was a blow by certain assessors who came out of the university.
“You know, [the ball] Zips on you and it can run it. It was very fun to see him in ota, and [I] I can’t wait to go out with him in the camp and throughout the season. “”

In the meantime, Hockenson returned to Teu to continue to strengthen his link with his colleagues tight through the League. It’s easy for Hockenson, who lives just 15 minutes away during off -season, so it’s a point in coming here, working and learning among his peers who also want to improve.
“Coming here and having all the guys is good to be around Travis, be around George. I mean, I’m here [Kittle] Every day we are with each other every day. To see some of the guys out of the field and really make the link, to meet them really outside football is very fun. So this is what I try to get out of it every year, to learn certain things in the field, from a few songs, to help the guys each year, then to be able to establish these connections and establish relationships out of the field with these guys. “”
