- The code in Watchos 26 suggests that a new confidentiality parameter is coming
- This would allow you to hide data in complications until your watch is unlocked
- Health data will always be hidden on a locked watch
Apple’s Watchos 26 update contains a lot of useful adjustments, but everything that is new has been announced by Apple – and it seems that a secret feature has been discovered in the beta of Watchos 26 which could make an interesting change in the faces of your watch.
Macrumors’ contributor, Steve Moser, apparently discovered the code in the Beta of the developer Watchos 26 which brings a new parameter to your watch: the possibility of displaying or hiding the data inside complications while your watch is locked.
In practice, this would mean that you could disable complications on your watch’s face – such as weather information, level of your battery, calendar information, etc. – To belong to it until you unlock your watch. This is somewhat similar to an iOS parameter that can hide the content of notifications until your iPhone is unlocked.
Le, uh, complication Here is that MacRumors was not able to find where this parameter is really. A Reddit user could have activated it, but he did not explain how he did or where he found the parameter.
Privacy
The only Addendum to this alleged parameter is that your Apple Watch will never display your health data when your device is locked, whether you activate or deactivate the functionality. This involves protecting your private health information from people who could otherwise see it (and potentially use it).
One of Apple’s forces is its commitment to user confidentiality, and this can be seen on many of its products and devices, its iCloud private relay which obscures your Internet activity to the calculation capacities of the private cloud of its APE Intelligence AP model. The company even fought and won a very public battle with the FBI on access to user devices, and has greatly rejected compromise attempts to compromise its encryption policies from start to finish.
This means that it should not be too surprising that Apple adds more confidentiality features to the Apple Watch with Watchos 26.
We will probably meet similar cases in the coming weeks and months while Apple refine its software beta and prepare them for the full version, probably in September alongside the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch SE 3 and the iPhone 17 range.
