The couple dies, the child survives in a road accident

Kaghan Valley:

A road accident cost the life as a couple in Attock on Tuesday, while their young child miraculously survived with injuries in the picturesque Kaghan valley. According to police, the family’s vehicle has gathered a mountainous road and plunged hundreds of feet in a deep ravine.

The incident occurred near a sharp curve, where the vehicle lost control and fell into a quick flow stream below. Rescue 1122 and local volunteers led a difficult operation to recover the bodies.

The injured child was transported urgently to a neighboring hospital for treatment.

Eye witnesses have described the scene as deeply painful, leaving tourists and residents shaken. This is the last in a series of accidents that have spoiled the current tourism season in the Kaghan and Naran valleys.

Earlier this year, three people – including one child – died in a similar accident near Batakundi, while another incident near Jalkhad left several injured tourists when a car overturned on a slippery road due to over -speed.

Despite safety measures such as the increase in patrols, warning panels and awareness campaigns, road accidents in the region continue to increase. The KDA and the administration of the district once again urged tourists to drive cautiously, in particular on steep slopes and blind turns, and called for the stricter application of road safety protocols.
