- The disclosed foldable iPhone specifications suggest that it could have two 48 MP cameras
- It is fewer cameras than rival foldables, and much fewer megapixels than at least an upcoming rival camera could have
- The leak also details screen and construction specifications
Although there have been many leaks on the foldable iPhone, so far, we have not heard of its cameras much, apart from the fact that there will probably be two. Now, however, we have a better idea of the Megapixel identification information of the iPhone Fold.
According to Leaker’s digital cat station (via @jukanlosreve), the foldable iPhone is “planned” to have a pair of 48 MP cameras. They do not specify what type of cameras it will be, but the previous leaks point to wide and ultra-large snappers, without telephoto lens to speak.
But if this is the case, then the foldable iPhone might not impress fans of cameras, nor keep them away from rival handsets. After all, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold have three-objectives cameras, with wide, ultra-large and telephotic lenses, respectively.
Apple foldable information: the specifications have not yet been finalized. The most recent test version has an approximately 7.58 -inch display with a 2713×1920 resolution and a 14.1: 10 appearance ratio.June 26, 2025
And although the number of megapixels of 48 MP of the foldable iPhone is competitive compared to current models, it will have more recent and better competition at the time of launch. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, for example, would have a main camera of 200 MP.
Of course, megapixels are only part of what makes a camera good and their importance can be overestimated. But the large megapixel counts certainly seem good on the specification sheets.
Thus, with the foldable iPhone also very well to cost more than rival devices, this could be a difficult sale for anyone cares about smartphone photography.
A large screen, a difficult hinge and a titanium frame
In addition to the cameras, this last leak also details the potential screen of the foldable iPhone, saying that it could have a foldable screen of 7.58 inches 1920 x 2713 with a 14.1: 10 appearance ratio.
In addition, the telephone would have “a hinge made of a more durable amorphous metal glass composite and a titanium alloy body”. These details seem more promising, this screen being somewhat similar to the competitors, and the use of titanium probably contributing to maintaining the weight of the foldable iPhone and its durability.
Of course, we take all this with a pinch of salt, because we would have a leak – and especially leaks surrounding the foldable iPhone, because this device will probably only be launched next year at the earliest.
Indeed, although the source has a good assessment, they say that the specifications in question are not yet finalized; They are simply the ones that Apple is currently testing.
Thus, even if their current information is correct, it is quite possible that Apple changes some or all these specifications before the release. At least from our part, we hope that the cameras in particular differ from what is detailed here.
