Islamabad:
The CII organized its national national annual conference of Ulema and Mashaikh on Thursday as part of the sacred month of Muharram to reaffirm its commitment to peace, unity and inter-sectary harmony within the framework of the national story of “Paigham-E-Pakistan”.
During the conference, the Ulema and Mashaikh unanimously approved a code of conduct stressing that each sect has the right to preach its beliefs, while the speech of hatred, the incentive and the taking of the law in hand would not be tolerated. Researchers have agreed that the authority to declare an apostate individual (Takfir) lies only in the courts.
