Ashura fell on July 6

Islamabad:

The Central Committee of Rue-E-Hilal announced Thursday the observation of the Moon Muharram-UL-Haram for the Islamic year 1447 Ah, marking the start of the new Islamic year from Friday, June 27.

Consequently, Ashura – the 10 of Muharram – will be observed on Sunday July 6.

The announcement was made by the president of the Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad committee following a meeting held at the office of the assistant commissioner in Quetta.

Managers of the Pakistani meteorological department and the National Space Agency, Suparco, were also present.
