PM Shehbaz meets parliamentarians after approval of the 2025 budget

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the federal budget for the year 2025-26 as a reflect of the needs of the people on Friday.

During a meeting with the senators and the members of the National Assembly one day after the lower chamber exceeded a federal budget of 17.6 Billions of rupees, he appreciated the economic team of work in the development of a budget which represents the aspirations of the Pakistani people and thanked the allied parts for having shaping the same thing.

The National Assembly approved on Thursday the budget of 17.6 Billions of rupees, as well as 463 billion new taxes, bringing the digital economy as the tax laws, but almost canceled the largest measure of application the most important application to prohibit economic transactions by non -eligible persons. Shehbaz also underlined the recent victory of Pakistan over India against an unjustified assault and praised the combined efforts of the armed forces, the political leadership, the public, the civil society and the media to defeat the harmful intentions of the enemy.

The PM noted that this victory had raised the global position of Pakistan.

In addition, he congratulated diplomatic efforts led by the president of the People’s Party of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to present the clear position of Pakistan and exhibit the aggressive plans of India before the international community.

The delegation, led by Bilawal, was warmly received internationally, and the Pakistani abroad also praised the government and the armed forces for their diplomatic and military success, according to Shehbaz.

Going to the recently culminated Israel-Iran war, Shehbaz reiterated the full solidarity of Pakistan with Iran and the Iranian people.

He added that Pakistan had maintained complete communication with Iranian leaders, in particular with the president of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, during the conflict.

The PM expressed the hope that the resolution of the Israeli-Iranian dispute would open doors to peace and prosperity in the region.

The meeting was followed by the president of the Senate, the members of the federal cabinet and the members of the National Assembly.
