The pirates pretend to sell 61 million Verizon discs online, but it may not be what it seems

  • A team of safety experts has discovered what looks like a Verizon database for sale
  • Hosted on the Clear web forum, it allegedly contains recordings of 61 million users of Verizon
  • The details contained in the database suggest that it is as recent as 2025

A new report by cybersecurity researchers from SAFETYDETECTIVES has revealed a huge set of data published online by pirates in a CSV / JSON file containing a total of 3.1 GB, totaling around 61 million “Verizon USA” files. The author dated this information as “2025” which suggests a new violation of potential data – although Verizon has since said Techradar Pro that he examined the data published and these are old data, not affiliated with the company.

The information on display includes sensitive data, including names, birth dates, identity identifiers, addresses and telephone numbers. This, like most violations, puts people assigned to a serious risk of identity theft – so if you are in question, you can be in danger, be sure to take a look at the identity theft protection software.
