On Friday, the American ambassador of Pakistan Natalie Baker met the Minister of the Interior Mohin Naqvi to discuss questions of mutual interest, including regional security, the fight against terrorism and increased bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Baker has reaffirmed the importance of American-Pakistani relations, declaring: “Pakistan is a precious partner in the United States. We attach great importance to our relationship and we are impatient to further strengthen our cooperation in several sectors.”

The meeting underlined the common commitment of the two countries to advance peace and stability in the region thanks to sustained dialogue and collaboration efforts.

During the discussion, the two parties exchanged points of view on various subjects of common interest, including the fight against terrorism, anti-narcotic collaboration and growing security problems in the region.

The dialogue highlighted the importance of strategic cooperation to meet the evolution of transnational challenges.

A key higher point in Reunion was the recent commitment between Pakistan’s chief of staff, Marshal Asim Munnir and US President Donald Trump. Naqvi and Baker considered Reunion as a constructive step towards deepening strategic links between Islamabad and Washington.

Naqvi praised President Trump’s management by facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, describing his efforts as “extraordinary and sincere”.

“The impressive role of President Trump in the brokerage of peace between Iran and Israel, following his contributions prior to the Pakistani-Indian ceasefire, will always remain memories,” said the Minister of the Interior. “We hope that President Trump will also succeed in causing a cease-fire in Gaza,” he added.

“Pakistan highly values ​​each step taken for the promotion of peace. We have always believed in the resolution of disputes, including the question of cashmere, by dialogue and diplomacy.”

The acting ambassador, Natalie Baker, praised Pakistan diplomatic initiatives aimed at stabilizing the region.
