Pakistan can have good relations with the United States, but that does not mean that Islamabad would support Washington’s actions that it does not judge, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar said on Friday, dissipating the impression that Pakistan would follow US policy on all questions. Speaking at a press conference, Dar said there were speculation that Pakistan would not take a clear position against the United States after bombing three nuclear sites from Iran. But Pakistan, said Dar, published a declaration occupying a firm position against such strikes. He stressed that having good relations with the United States does not mean supporting them when they are wrong. The Trump administration has abandoned the 45-year-old policy in the United States not to launch a direct strike from Iran when it sent B-2 bombers and targeted nuclear installations via Bunker Buster Bombs. Pakistan sentenced American strikes and said Iran had the right to respond to such attacks. "We were aware that Iran would not remain silent without response. In response, Iran has targeted the American base in Qatar. Iran has now emerged from this crisis with dignity after taking its revenge. The ceasefire between Iran and Israel is still holding," Dar continued. He added that Iran appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to the United Nations Security Council and expressed its gratitude in its parliament. During the speech of the Iranian president, the parliament echoes songs of "Thanks to Pakistan." In the background, Pakistan extended full political support to Iran to make sure that it was not isolated or undermined in this crisis. Dar added that, especially when the United States attacked Iran and the Pakistani army chief returned to the country, on Pakistan’s suggestion, he stopped in Istanbul. A meeting had already been confirmed to President Erdogan. The meeting included the Marshal in the field, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (DAR) and the Pakistan ambassador. On the Turkish side were President Erdogan, the Turkish Foreign Minister, the Head of Intelligence and the higher members of the Management. The objective of the meeting was the question of Iran. According to Dar, Iran informed Pakistan that it is peaceful and not in favor of the development of nuclear weapons, it would not refrain from responding to the American strike. Iran coordinated with Qatar before launching its reprisal attack against the American air base located there. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also pointed out that, thanks to the Pakistan initiative, a meeting of the OIC contact group on the occupied cashmere was also summoned. He recalled that Pakistan, Iran and Turkey were the founding members of the RCD (Regional Cooperation for Development), which was then extended to Eco (Economic Cooperation Organization). To a question, Dar said that Pakistan would not ask or ask anyone to persuade India to start interviews with Pakistan. "We did not lie for talks. We don’t ask anyone to persuade India to speak to us," he explained. The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Pakistan was not hesitated to hold talks with India. The Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that New Delhi would only engage with Pakistan on the issue of terrorism, Dar said that Pakistan was ready to discuss the issue of terrorism as well as the Cashmere and Industry Water Treaty. "There are 200 countries and I am sure that Pakistan and India can find an appropriate place for discussions," He said.
