Time becomes pleasant while precipitation continues

Karachi experienced a welcome change of time on Saturday morning, the rain showers bringing relief in several parts of the city.

Precipitation, which started early in the day, ended an extended intense heat spell, offering a respite that is very necessary for residents.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has planned intermittent rains and thunderstorms throughout the day, especially afternoon.

Temperatures should peak at 31 ° C, with high humidity levels remaining approximately 90%. The winds blow from the northeast to 10 km / h, contributing to the cool but humid conditions.

The PMD also predicted thunderstorms for other sindh cities, including Hyderabad, Dadu, Badin and Sukkur.

The western system in progress is expected to bring thunderstorms, gusts and more rain in the region until June 29.

In Karachi, the highest precipitation recorded so far were 16 mm in the city of Surjani, followed by 7.4 mm in the north of Karachi and 6.1 mm in the city of Orangi.

The Met Office has issued a warning that another monsoon system will probably affect the Sindh around July 5 or 6.

The PMD spokesperson noted that the southern parts of Karachi are currently under a cloud cover, which could lead to heavier precipitation later during the day.

Residents are advised to remain cautious on the roads, because wet conditions could cause slippery surfaces.
