Miftah criticizes government economic policies

Karachi:

AWAM Pakistan Party leader (APP), Miftah Ismail, criticized government economic policies on Saturday, saying that the Prime Minister had reduced the budget deficit, the interest rate would have fallen to a figure.

Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club alongside the former MNA Salahuddin, Nasiruddin and others, Miftah said that the new federal budget had lost time of the nation while lying down the public.

He argued that the Prime Minister should have focused on the price of the National Finance Commission (NFC), adding that the World Bank reports a large part of the population of Pakistan living below the poverty line, with two million young people unable to find a job each year. He condemned the taxation of taxes even on the basic articles in the new budget, the appellant “shameful”.

Referring to the recent tragic incident to Swat where 18 poor individuals drowned, Miftah called her a moment of national reflection. He wondered if such a tragedy would have occurred if the victims had been affiliated with a political party.
