Islamabad: Jhelum police have managed to recover a pair of AirPods belonging to the British social media influencer Miles Routledge, better known as “Lord Miles”, a year after their loss of Dubai.
Routledge, who inadvertently left his airpods in a hotel in Dubai inadvertently, had activated the “lost fashion” feature on his iPhone, allowing him to monitor and continuously follow their location.
To his surprise, the signal revealed that the aircraft had been transported from Dubai to Kala Gujran, a union council on the outskirts of Jhelum City in Pakistan.
The AirPods have sometimes cracked near a local restaurant, providing a crucial index in their place.
Without direct contact in Pakistan, Miles has used its vast social media, by publishing updates on the site of the AirPods and by directly marking the Jhelum police in its posts.
Digital breadcrumbs finally led to a real investigation.
The location of the individual using the AirPods has proven to be a difficult task. However, the district police officer (DPO) Jhelum, Tariq Aziz Sindhu, has taken care of, ordering his team to reduce households in the region with links with Dubai.
Their diligent efforts have borne fruit, identifying four men in the surrounding area who worked in Dubai.
A more in -depth investigation revealed that one of these men was currently in Pakistan, visiting his family. Police summoned her to interrogate the AirPods.
The individual admitted to having possessed the devices but said that he had bought them from an Indian national in Dubai, ignoring that they were a stolen asset.
Satisfied with his explanation, the police managed to recover the AirPods.
Then, Miles was contacted to ask him if he would opt to receive them in person by going to Pakistan or would share a postal address for sending.
He chose to visit and film The Recovery, an intention he also expressed in his social media account.
“I’m going to get a police officer and storm the region, recover my airpods and film everything. I don’t like thieves,” he tweeted, assuming the police had followed the suspect and would put a dramatic raid.
When he arrived, he learned that the AirPods were already in detention, and he was rather invited to have lunch in a restaurant.
In a television statement, Miles praised the Jhelum police, recognizing their efforts. He pointed out that the strength had done what “Scotland Yard in London would not do for a British citizen like me”.
He also said that the original thief was an Indian, not a Pakistanis.
Miles has since launched a campaign against the Indians calling them thieves. In a position, he said that the Indian who had stolen his airpods had been arrested in Dubai for theft.
