- Microsoft has teamed up with 1Password to improve the integration of the key key
- Users will soon be able to use and synchronize passkeys on Windows 11
- Microsoft regularly removes passwords for Passkeys
Microsoft has deployed test feature to improve Passkey support on Windows.
A new partnership with one of the best password managers, 1Password, allows users to synchronize their identification information and theirkkeys on Windows 11.
Microsoft has also published an API Identification Manager plugin to allow other password managers to integrate with Windows.
Integration of the key key for Windows
The new feature has been published in the Windows 11 Update Calling Build 26200.5670 (KB5060838) in the development channel, and users who seek to test the new feature must:
- Install 1Password Beta on your Windows 11 PC.
- Go to Settings> Passkeys> Advanced options to activate the plugin identification manager.
- Turn on the support and complete user verification with Windows Hello (face, fingerprint or pin).
- You can now use your existing passkeys recorded in the plugin identification manager or save New Passkeys.
Better integration of Passkey is something that many Windows users were waiting for, current dependence on applications and third -party websites being a bit clumsy.
Microsoft has regularly deleted passwords in favor of Passkeys, which are much more secure and phishing resistant. Only a few days ago, Microsoft announced that it deleted the recorded passwords in the Microsoft Authenticator application.
In August 2025, Microsoft Authenticator will delete all the recorded passwords and will not allow you to create new recorded passwords or automatically your identification information. Instead, you will now be invited to use Passkeys by default when creating a Microsoft account.
