“Alex has the full support of our organization by prioritizing his health and his quality of long -term life,” said Golden Knights, Kelly Mcrimmon, in a statement. “Alex faces hips that would require a bilateral reconstruction of the femur, without guarantee of success. Throughout the season, the stages that Alex had to take to play and practice began to grow and make a significant number on his body.”
McCrimmon said the team had hoped that treatment and rest during the 4 nations break would have been sufficient to bring it back to the ice.
“… But instead, what we found was a decrease in positive results and a process that is no longer lasting in the future. Alex gave everything to the game and the Goldni Knights and played important challenges in the search to try to win another Stanley Cup in Vegas.
“He is one of the most respected players in the league, not only for his elite talent, but for his character, his leadership, his competitiveness and his professionalism. Today’s decision is difficult for Alex and the Golden Knights, but this is for the right reasons – so that Alex can be the man of the family that we all know him.”

Golden Knights struck the jackpot while the Maple Leafs send Mitch Marner to Las Vegas in a breathtaking job: reports
Pietrangelo signed a seven -year contract with the Golden Knights in October 2020 and helped the team in a title of Stanley Cup in 2023 – the second of his career because he already held the Cup with St. Louis Blues.
However, injuries have wreaked havoc on his body.
“The last years have been very difficult on my physical well-being, and I am in a difficult position with my overall game health,” he said. “After exploring the options with doctors and my family, it was advisable to remove the intensity of hockey to see if my body can improve so that I can return to a normal quality of life.
“This decision has been difficult to accept after the last 17 years of competition and camaraderie with my teammates and coaches. The probability is weak that my body will recover to the standard required to play, but I know that it is the right decision for me and my family.”
