If you live in the United Kingdom, you will most often suffer in heat waves temperatures. I myself was cruelly torn from the Office Air Con, and I have to write this with an iced matcha latte pressed on the side of my face (damp, difficult to type, but ultimately necessary).
As one of the editors of Techradar houses, I write about fans as part of my work. If you are one of the many British suddenly chasing the best fan to save you from fusion in a puddle, let me help.
The fan n ° 1 that I would buy now is Shark’s original flexbreeze. It is about the most versatile fan on the market right now – it can be used by cable or wireless, inside or outside, and as a large pedestal fan or a table top for concentrated cooling. This means that he can accompany you wherever you go. The real Trump Card, however, is that he has a fogging attachment for more intense cooling.
He scored 4.5 stars almost perfect in our Flexbreree shark fan review, and prompted our tester to go out immediately and buy two others.
Of course, there are other options that meet more specific needs (I will list three alternatives in a second), but if it is as much cooling, most of the time as possible, the Flexbreree should adapt to the bill.
Do I really need mist?
Why is the mist so useful in a fan? Well, the fans do not really abuse the temperature, they make you feel cooler by promoting evaporation on your skin. If the air in the room is already hot, there is a limit to the effect they can have. On the other hand, Bruds will Lower the temperature, and especially if they are inspired by cold or refrigerated water (imagine).
To activate the fogging here, you will have to hang the fan with a water source. If you prefer not to face it, you can rather opt for the flexbreree pro Mist, which has its own water tank. It is currently available as part of a bundle with the Flexbreree Hydrogo Portable for £ 299.98 (£ 379.98) in Shark. It is more an investment, but it could be worth it if you have a friend or a family member who also suffers from heat.
Alternatives to consider
Do you want something slightly different? Here are three other of my best fans choices, for different situations …
Dreo Smart Tower Fan 519S
If you just need something for a part inside and you would benefit from smart controls, this tour fan is an excellent choice. It comes with an automatic mode for consistent temperatures and you can plan it to activate and deactivate, among others. Read our complete DREO Smart Tower Fan 519S review for more information.
Méacofan 1056p circulating air
An air circulator puts all the air through your room, even offering cooling in a larger area. This Meaco traffic fan was tested during a previous heat wave, and our criticism can attest to its efficiency. Read our full review of the 1056p air circulator for more information.
It’s expensive, but if you have trouble sleeping in the heat, this new Dyson fan changes the situation. It is so calm in operation that he even obtained the nighttime stamp for approval from our tester very sensitive to noise. There is also a dedicated sleep mode which decreases the display.
