- Nintendo increases the price of the original switch, Switch Oled and Switch Lite in Canada
- Accessories, physical and digital games and online subscriptions will also be affected, but the cost of Switch 2 will remain the same
- Nintendo explains that prices update is “based on market conditions”
Nintendo has announced that it would increase the prices of some of its products in Canada.
As IGN reported, the company said that a “price update” will soon be implemented in Canada for certain Nintendo products, the original switch, the OLED switch and the Switch Lite.
In particular, the cost of the new Nintendo Switch 2, which was launched at the beginning of last month, will not be assigned, and the prices will remain the same.
He also confirmed that physical and digital games will be affected, which will probably have an impact on Switch 2 owners, because most games are compatible behind, as well as accessories, and Nintendo Switch online subscriptions.
As for the reason for the increase in sudden prices, Nintendo explained that prices adjustments are “based on market conditions”, but have not offered additional details.
Nintendo of Canada has issued an advisory warning which said that the complete details of the adjusted prices will be revealed later during the day (July 1), which will be reflected in the official Nintendo Canada store.
We cannot say with certainty how much each product will increase, but we will keep you posted.
SWITCH 2 pre-orders were delayed in Canada in April, following delays in the United States, which was made so that Nintendo could assess the impact of the Trump administration.
