Riley Gaines and Keith Olbermann were again on social networks this week after the former ESPN host targeted the former Kentucky University Swimmer according to the resolution agreement between the University of Pennsylvania and the Department of Education which led to the files of the school’s counting program held by the Transgender Lia Thomas swimmer.
Olbermann published on Tuesday a message on X calling “Whiny” sheaths in response to the announcement of the Civil Rights Office (OCR) of the US Ministry of Education (OCR) reached an agreement with Upenn Following his investigation into the violations of the title IX which focused on Thomas’ participation in the female swimming team during the 2021-222 season.

“I wanted to congratulate Whiny Gaines for having been able to say now that she finished equally in equality for fifth place in the race of Lia Thomas,” wrote Olbermann in his article, referring to the NCAA Division I NCAA Championships, when Gaines equaled to Thomas for fifth place in 200 free.

Sheaths, Outkick host “Gaines for girls” The Podcast and an All-American swimmer from the NCAA 12 times, responded quickly to the Léger and the former Olbermann host and reminded the former ESPN host that Thomas ranked lower in the male competition before going to the female team.

Gaines continued, “(if you insinuate the 5th in the country is bad, what are you calling a man who ranks 462nd nationally in the category of men?)”
Upenn still recognizes Lia Thomas Records in update after resolution with the Department of Education
Thomas has become the first openly transgender athlete to win a Ncaa Title of division I. During the competition, Thomas established several recordings of individual programs. On Tuesday, Upenn announced that a record of records established by Thomas this season would be updated to reflect the records of the competitors.
A note on the school’s website, however, has always recognized Thomas’ files on the basis of the NCAA eligibility conditions at the time.
“Note: in competition in the eligibility rules in force at the time, Lia Thomas established program records in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle during the 2021-22 season,” said the annotation.
