After having recorded his 12th professional victory during the weekend, Jake Paul may no longer have any choice than to try to silence his criticism.
Paul beat the former WBC’s average weight champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of the boxing legend who organized five different world titles in four different weight classes on Saturday in Anaheim, and moved to 12-1.
With the victory, Paul is now officially classified for the first time, arriving at No. 14 in the WBA Cruiserweight ranking.

This now makes him eligible for a fight against Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, who has 48-1. Ramirez defended his title in the co-printing event on Saturday, beating Yuniel Dorticos (classified n ° 7) before Paul and Chavez Jr. take the ring.
Paul’s career has often been laughed because of his opponents – fighters who are beyond their prime numbers. Like Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, or unpopular pros like Ryan Bourland and Andre August. However, he was categorical that he wants to become world champion.
In fact, he predicted PK Press Club Digital that he would win a title before the summer of 2028.
Paul has recently been challenged by Piers Morgan about his opponents, namely the average weight champion Canelo Alvarez, but Paul said again that Alvarez had “dodged” him.

“Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Champions in their sport. Champions Gold Gloves, Ryan Bourland, Andre August, unbeaten Fighters. The list continues,” Paul told Morgan before her fight against Chavez Jr. “Former world champion on Saturday, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. I don’t know what I want to see. That’s why Chavez is here on Saturday.
“I fought several boxers with professional records, including Mike Tyson himself.”
Paul said in February in February that he and Alvarez were in “deep negotiations” for a fight that would have occurred during the Cinco de Mayo weekend. However, Alvarez ended up signing an agreement of four fights with the Riyadh season to fight in Saudi Arabia.
“It is disappointing to see how the situation took place. MVP works with integrity, transparency and respect for sport, its athletes and fans. Unfortunately, everyone in the world of boxing does not share these values,” said Paul’s most precious promotions at the time.

The next adversaries of Paul and Ramirez are both TBD, but perhaps the fact that the two co-printings have awakened the same card could be a form of prefiguration.
