The Punjab Environment Protection Agency confiscated 321,582 kg of plastic bags of less than 75 microns since a ban imposed by the provincial government on June 5.
In accordance with official data, the department’s teams carried out 143,354 inspections across the province.
The EPA squads carried out 136,961 raids and confiscated 249,485 kg of plastic bags, of which 6,393 raids were carried out in the provincial capital and 72,097 kg of plastic bags were seized.
The director general of Punjab, the director general of Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, told L’Express PK Press Club that recognizing the growing need to control the production and use of plastic products, the chief minister Maryam Nawaz had decided to ban bags from June 5.
The chief minister asked the environment of the environment to monitor all the premises registered to ensure that no production unit violates the rules by producing plastic bags with low single -use micron. In addition, the department will carry out vigilance operations to ensure that no plastic bag production unit is left unregistered.
An information system on plastic management (PISMS) has also been launched since December for the registration and granting of licenses of plastic companies throughout Punjab.
The DG said that 556 producers, consumers, collectors and recyclers had been recorded through PMIS.

Prohibited plastic bags weighing 9,987 kg were seized in Mandi Bahauddin, 8,130 kg in Siackot, 5,868 kg in Gujrat, 5204 kg in Dera Ghazi Khan, 4.271kg in Toba Tek Singh, 4,068 kg in Lodhran, 3,827kg in Jhang, 333 3333EKG, 3,827kg in Jhang, 3333e in 33333Ekg, 3827kg in Jhang, 3333e in Lodhran, 3,827kg in Jhang, 3333e in Lodhran, 3,827kg in Jhang, 33333 Narowal, 3,024 kg in Muzaffarg, 2 891 kg in Okara, 2,886 kg in Pakpattan, 1,826 kg in Minawali and 5,899 kg in vehicle.
In Nankana Sahib, 5,656 kg of prohibited bags were seized, Hafizabad 5.328 kg, Attock 5.012 kg, Bahawalnagar 4,743 kg, Layyah 4,647 kg, Khanewal 3,764kg, Rahim Yar Khan 3,604kg, 3.56 JHELUM 2,879 kg, Chiniot 2,529 kg, Rajanpur 2,064 kg, Khushab 1.734 kg, Kot ADU 1.541kg, Bhakkar 1.307kg, Pholnagar 874kg and Murree 341kg.
The secretary for environmental protection and climate change, Silwat Saeed, said that an initiative to invite all companies and organizations to participate in the Punjab without plastic engagement will lead to more effective means of stopping forbidly used plastic articles.
