Plastic waste tarnishes the picturesque charm of Patriata

Islamabad:

While global efforts to combat environmental pollution will intensify, the picturesque tourist destination of Patriata in Murrier experiences an increasing deterioration in the environment due to the creeping use of plastic provisions and general waste.

The provincial campaign “Clean Punjab” has obtained broad public support, but the condition of the Patriata Fleslift and Public Park, managed by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), continues to deteriorate.

Tourists and residents expressed the disappointment of the unhealthy environment. A citizen, Zahid Khan, said that TDCP, despite receiving a considerable budget and earning millions of people in the sale of tickets, has failed to maintain basic cleanliness standards, causing significant drawbacks to visitors. Another citizen said that the accumulation of waste and plastic waste would have led to the skin and the respiratory problems among the inhabitants.

The director of TDCP told L’Express PK Press Club that courteousness and courtyard was essential to the success of any tourist destination.
